TANK SATURDAY – Canada at War – MAY 9 2020 – CANCELLED

It is with heavy heart that I have to announce the first cancellation in the 2020 Tank Season.
In response to COVID-19 and the recent provincial emergency order to prohibit organized public events and social gatherings of more than five people, the City of Oshawa is cancelling all special events and festivals, as well as special event permits through to and including July 1, 2020.

Due to the increasing impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on everyone, we are following these orders and have been required to CANCEL the May 9 Tank Saturday event.

Much like other Canadian museums, the Ontario Regiment RCAC Museum has been closed to the public from March 20 – and at present; there is little indication to suggest that we will be able to host any events until at least July.

As AQUINO Tank Weekend has been postponed and moved from June to September, this order does not have any effect on other events and currently our next Tank Saturday is still scheduled to commence on July 11. Further updates to that event will be posted closer to the date as we continue to monitor the situation.

Hope you are all doing well under the circumstances,

Jeremy Neal Blowers
Executive Director
The Ontario Regiment RCAC Museum

TANK SATURDAY – Canada at War – MAY 9 2020 – CANCELLED

We understand this is difficult for our supporters and fans, especially those that already hold tickets to the event.

As you know we run our signature TANK SATURDAY events once a month from May – October. Any tickets for a canceled TAN SATURDAY event will be automatically transferred and valid for ANY of the existing dates up until October 2020.  You do not have to take any action other than updating your calendar.

Here’s how it will impact ticket holders:

STANDARD TICKETS: TANK SATURDAY ADMISSION

All regular admission tickets for May 9 TANK SATURDAY will be valid for the remaining dates during the season. Remaining Tank Saturday events will be held on: July 11, August 8 and October 3.

TANK RIDE AND VEHICLE RIDE TICKETS

Pre-purchased ride tickets including Leopard MBT, M113 and M548 are all valid and can be used on future TANK SATURDAY events OR the tickets can be redeemed during AQUINO Tank Weekend on September 19-20 2020.

TANK EXPERIENCE PACKAGES

If you have a booked Tank Experience Package for May 9 TANK SATURDAY, you will be contacted directly and individually by our Executive Director to make other arrangements.  Your packages support our operations and we value your contributions. We will work with you directly to reschedule your Experience.

If we are forced to cancel any further TANK SATURDAY events this year;  we will be offering all Experience Package Riders affected by these cancelations a very special package and an invitation to a VIP TANK EXPERIENCE day at the museum where you will be able to ride in several more Tanks and vehicles.  An experience that we usually charge $1500 for under normal circumstances.

SEASON PASS HOLDERS

Season Passes are valid for anytime the museum is open including all remaining TANK SATURDAY events including AQUINO Tank Weekend.

CAN’T MAKE ANY OF THE NEW DATES?

These circumstances are beyond what any of us could have predicted. As stated, your TANK SATURDAY Tickets will be valid on all the new dates automatically. But, if you can’t make any of the new dates we can offer the following:

Option 1: Transfer your tickets to any TANK SATURDAY in 2021.

Option 2: Turn your unused tickets into a donation and receive a Tax Deductible receipt from our Museum: This outbreak is set to be devastating to the arts, culture and heritage industry. Showing your support for our Museum in this way will play a major part in helping us navigate what is the biggest crisis we have faced in our history.

Option 3: A Refund of your Tickets minus the processing fees which are non-recoverable by the Museum.  Our Terms and Conditions are that all tickets are non-refundable but given these extraordinary circumstances we will make an exception. Please note it may take as long as six weeks to process refunds under these unprecedented circumstances.

We hope that much like us and our members, you can shift your schedule and join us later this season to enjoy these incredible events and support our Museum.

However, if you cannot and wish to exercise one of the options above; please contact us (info@tankmuseum.ca) before 1700hrs on 1 May 2020. If we don’t hear from you by this date, we will assume you are content with the new dates – and ticket holders will be bound by our standard terms & conditions.
