The personal information you provide to the Museum will only be shared with the individual equipped to handle your request and is used only to respond to your inquiry.

If you subscribed to the Museum's E-mail list to receive periodic news and events updates and longer wish to be contacted, please send a note to webmaster so that we may remove your address from our mailing list.

As part of its mission, the Canadian Tank Museum may utilize potential Intellectual Property from many sources.    The Museum does not use any potential Intellectual Property in any frivolous manner and is cognizant of its importance and value.   The Museum’s first concern will always be to negotiate use or provide credit for any Intellectual Property that it uses.

The Museum call use Intellectual Property from several sources being:

  • Owned by the Museum,
  • In the Public Domain,
  • Used under permission of the Owner, and
  • Used under the doctrine of “Fair Dealing”

The Museum may own its own Intellectual Property through acquisition, gift or purchase of the Property.  It also owns any Intellectual Property generated by its employees. Contractors, consultants, and volunteers/members if created as part of their job role.

Intellectual Property that is in the public domain may be used. 

The owner of the Intellectual Property may gift, sell, lend, in in some other way allow the Museum to use their intellectual property.

Under the Canadian Copyright Act, Museums may exercise “Fair Dealing”.  It states in section 29.4 (1) that “It is not an infringement of copyright for an educational institution or a person acting under its authority for the purposes of education or training on its premises to reproduce a work, or do any other necessary act, in order to display it.”.  This must be done without the “motive of gain”.

Any changes to the Canadian Tank Museum's terms of use and privacy policy will be communicated on this website. Policy changes will not alter how we handle previously submitted personal information.
